Athenesi is a modern metal band formed in 2020 from an idea by Marco Espada, together with Alessandro Ferraro and Mattia Bonacina. After the addition of bassist Matteo Boschini, the band began writing and recording their debut album At The Beginning, co-produced with Midnight Studio and recorded between Milan and the lockdown period.
The album was released on October 21, 2022, preceded by three singles and received positive feedback from audiences and international webzines.
After several lineup changes, guitarist Stefano Tintori officially joined the band in 2023.
Later, bassist Daniele Preda left the band and was replaced by former guitarist Mattia Bonacina, who returned as the new bassist.
Each band member brings different musical influences, extending well beyond metal, and this shared desire to experiment is what truly unites them as musicians.
In 2024, the band released the single Inside Myself, leading to collaborations with international brands such as EMG, ENGL, Solar Guitars, Tebb Drumsticks.
Athenesi are currently working on their second album, scheduled for release in 2026.
